The aim of our project is expand and enhance current vegetable gardens to promote healthy eating to school community, supply tuckshop and families with healthy produce. The children will be involved in designing gardens (including managing water, sunlight, nutrients, compost, sustainability), growing plants from seed, harvesting, engaging with community to manage distribution. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include developing and applying understanding of where our food comes from, reduce food waste going to landfill, creating sustainable vegetable gardens.
