The aim of our project is to plant an Indigenous garden so that all students can observe and appreciate how plants increase biodiversity throughout the seasons. The children will be involved in assessing the site, selecting Indigenous plants that increase biodiversity and planting them in groupings that highlight the Kulin calendar. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include increased biodiversity in the school environment and our students learning the connection between plant cycles and the Kulin nation seasons.
