The aim of our project is to extend on our ‘Jingi Wala Garden’, attract native bees and create a native garden to connect the children to nature. We hope to enhance perspective of Indigenous values and the importance to look after their land. The children will be involved in gathering ideas through drawings and conversations; help with preparing the garden, planting plants and maintaining the garden; and connecting with our ‘Jingi Wala Garden’. The project will allow ongoing learning about food, the land, animals and connecting with Indigenous cultures. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include: embedding aboriginal culture through hands-on learning, tasting and connecting to nature. The children will also gain an understanding of sustainability and be able to provide a habitat for wildlife.
