Happy Habitats

The aim of our project is to improve the habitat and conditions for the native birds, lizards and insects in our school grounds by providing access to water, food and shelter. The children will be involved in constructing, painting and installing birdhouses and insect motels and planting bird attracting plants. They will have an ongoing role in maintaining fresh water for birds and lizards and monitoring the birdhouses. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include: understanding the impact of development on the natural habitat of our native animals and how we can care for the environment and native wildlife.
