The aim of our project is to follow up on the incursion we had on composting. This will assist our children to understand how vegetables are grown, the sustainability benefits of compost by turning our food scraps into compost which renews the ability to grow new plants. The whole school will be involved in the project with all year levels collecting food scraps to be used for compost. The year 5/6 children will be involved in planting of seeds, growing, caring and harvesting the vegetables. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include: our students learning the plant life cycle, caring and being responsible for something, where food comes from and clean waste through hands on learning.
