The aim of our project is to provide a natural corridor around the school to revegetate landscape to improve the environment, to encourage birds and bees and butterflies, to plant a variety of bush tucker and traditional use variants, and to engage with and improve our community connectedness. The children will be involved in preparing the site including improving the soil, they will be involved in planting the native plants, preparing identification information for every tree, watering and general care for the plantings. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include introducing native bees to the site, encouraging bees, birds, butterflies and native fauna to frequent our school site, teaching about bush tucker plants and traditional use plants, providing outdoor classroom meeting places in a natural environment, and the beautification of the school.
