Noongar Seasons Garden

Holy Cross College Ellenbrook

The aim of our project is to create a native garden using bush tucker plants that incorporates information on the six Noongar seasons. We also hope to promote bee activity in our garden. The children will be involved in designing the garden layout, researching bush tucker plants that are appropriate, completing artwork to incorporate the six Noongar seasons, planting and mulching, creating bee homes and cooking food with the produce. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include the knowledge and understanding of the importance of bush tucker plants for ourselves, animals and the environment. For students to learn about bees and how they are needed for our future survival. True understanding of how food travels from garden to plate.
