Mt Manypea’s Bush Tucker Garden

The aim of our project is to enhance and expand our current bush tucker garden. We will need to replace damaged garden beds and create more to expand our capacity to grow and cook meals centered around bush tucker during weekly kitchen garden sessions. The children will be involved in building garden beds, filling with soil, planting, nurturing and caring for the plants and finally harvesting, cooking and eating the produce. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include learning about the Noongar Seasons through bush tucker planting. This is a project where all the students will get the opportunity to learn about the lifecycle of bush tucker from start to finish as well as learning about the right time to plant, according to the season.
