Kinder Kitchen Garden

Ulverstone Primary School

The aim of our project is to create a small kitchen garden that the Early Childhood children at our school can take ownership over and build on their passion for growing vegetables. The children will be involved in all aspects of the project; designing the garden bed layout, planning what they will plant and where, walking to purchase their seeds, planting and tending to their crop and finally the harvesting, cooking and sharing with families! The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include our students learning about sustainability, vegetable life cycles, caring for a crop, composting and inspiring a whole school culture of sustainability and enjoyment from growing and cooking their own vegetables.
