Isobel’s Friends of the Earth

KU Isobel Pulsford Memorial Preschool

The aim of our project is to plant and grow healthy and abundant food crops including indigenous plants, to learn about where our food comes from and to reduce our waste by creating compost from our own food scraps. The children will be involved in planting and tending to fruits, vegetables and herbs, (including indigenous plants) and hands-on experiences related to reducing food waste and composting. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include developing an understanding of the benefits of composting and creating a green space within our preschool where children can learn about healthy lifestyles and looking after the Earth.
