Homes for Bees

The aim of our project is to understand that ‘We need bees, bees need homes.’ European Honey bees and native bees all have a place in our school environment. Some special guests will come and show us why and how. Students will be involved in planning and building the hives, be involved in workshops with experts and plant indigenous plants to increase the food available for the bees. The expected outcomes are that our environment will be enhanced by increased biodiversity and healthy ecosystems. Our students will come away with an understanding of the importance of bees in our environment and ways in which we can make better homes for them.
