Freshwater Bay Primary School’s Waste Reduction Project

The aim of our project is to improve the entire waste cycle of our school garden, from seed to compost. The children will be involved in the design, management and promotion of the composting and waste handling systems from start to finish. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include increased awareness of the amount of organic and inorganic waste generated by the school and the simple ways that waste can be reduced or used to support and improve our school garden ecosystem.
