Capalaba State College Connection Corridor

Capalaba State College

The aim of our project is To enhance the natural environment of the school grounds by creating ‘The Connection Corridor’ – an interactive natural thoroughfare that connects students with nature and trees. ‘The Connection Corridor’ will provide students a range of outdoor experiences to observe nature and to enjoy learning activities in the natural world. The children will be involved in imagining, designing and bringing enhanced natural learning spaces to life. They will be involved in caring for the Connection Corridor, soil testing, selecting plant species, watering plants, weeding and eating bush tucker. They will enjoy regular learning activities that take place along the Connection Corridor outdoor areas. The project will enhance the natural environment and increase educational capacity for hands-on outdoor learning experiences at the school. Cultural heritage learnings will be an outcome with a bush tucker garden included in proposal. Outcomes include additional outdoor learning training for staff.
