The aim of our project is to use 3D printing technology to build adaptors that convert plastic bottles into reusable tree guards, nesting boxes and a beehive. The children will be involved in designing and making 3D printed parts using recycled PLA to enhance native habitats and reduce plastic bottle waste going to landfill. The expected (environmental and educational) outcomes of the project include our students getting hands on to reduce waste whilst creating functional tools to improve native habitats. In doing so they will develop academic skills in STEM subjects.
