Yarning Circle Indigenous Garden

Seaford Kindergarten

Our project was to create an Indigenous garden around our existing yarning circle to encourage birds and wildlife into our Kindergarten. 2020 threw us a challenge in getting this garden completed as we were faced with both closures and restrictions in having any people other than staff into the kinder grounds up until recently. But, we managed to create a beautiful space for our children to continue to enjoy the yarning circle they often use to come together during session times. The nesting boxes added will help to attract birds into the kindergarten and all the indigenous and native plants added to the new garden will facilitate lots of discussions about nature, living things and wildlife. We hope it becomes a space the children will continue to enjoy for many years to come.
