Our sensory garden has been completely upgraded to make it accessible and engaging for our students. They helped to select and plant a wide range of plants that have different sensory textures, smells, and visual appearances. Students selected a range of herbs and planted them and use these in our weekly tuckshop – which they run. We upgraded the pathways to be safer and wheelchair accessible and have added a table and shelter into the space. It is now a place where students want to be, can learn, and also parents can spend time with their children. It has also had the impact of starting the conversation with the school community about having further horticultural projects with the students.
