Our children were in involved in turning an empty garden into our very first native garden. Our hands-on project provided the children with opportunities to become confident and involved learners. Our children were involved in cleaning out our garden bed, sanding our timber animals, planting, exploring arts through mosaic tiling, and crafting our garden sign. They particularly enjoyed sanding down our timber Australian animals and decorating them. The children loved learning about our native plants and cannot wait to try them. Our project provided opportunity for the school community to be connected with and be able to contribute to their world in order for them to model respect, and gain a new appreciation for their natural environment.
