The Great Green Wall

In this project, our goal was to research, design, create and nurture our new garden. This unique vertical garden will combine vegetables, herbs, native and flowering plants. It will be created out of timber and recycled soft drink bottles to provide a beautiful green living wall area in our school. It will also help us to learn about sustainable gardening, growing food, enhancing habitats and principles of reducing, reusing and recycling. We will then share the knowledge and skills we have learnt with our local kindergarten children and help them build them a great wall too. We have put research into a viable, resource smart, solar powered watering system, calculated, measured and prepared materials for the frame and the bottle system, constructed the frame, prepared and attached the bottles and installed the watering system, learnt about sustainability, recycling and enhancing habitats and engaging spaces. We have shared our knowledge with children in our local kindergarten and worked fantastically together as a team.
