Our project aimed to enhance the natural diversity of our local area by building and installing microbat roosting boxes: 15 boxes were built and installed. Students have gained an understanding of the threats faced by microbat populations and how they can contribute to creating a better environment for bats. The whole of school focus on this project (weeks 1-5 term 3) created a sense of joined learning, students worked together to create informative posters, digital displays and songs, which were shared at an assembly celebrating their bat related work. Students who worked to build the boxes expressed a pride in their achievement and had positive interactions with community members outside of our school.
